Who we are

Goodwin was sparked over morning coffee — a recurring conversation about the frustrating realities of workplace investigations: disjointed manual workflows, mounting pressure, delayed report production, and high-cost service models. One founder shared the challenges from the HR frontlines. The other was deep into building practical, ethical AI tools. The opportunity was obvious: bring technology and empathy together to create a better process — one where everyone wins.

For employers, that means fast, high-quality investigations with transparency and accountability. For investigators, it's less friction, better workflows, and compensation based on value delivered — not hours logged.

Our founding team brings together:

  • Three serial entrepreneurs with a track record of building ventures in complex, high-integrity industries.

  • A seasoned HR executive with hands-on experience leading sensitive workplace investigations and managing culture and risk.

  • Legal, tech, and operations experts who understand both the strategic and day-to-day realities of building trust at scale.

We’ve sat on all sides of the table — as employers, investigators, entrepreneurs, and professionals in legal, tech, and business leadership — and we built Goodwin to solve a problem we’ve lived ourselves. The result: a smarter, more human investigation platform that empowers professionals to work faster, fairer, and with greater confidence.

Inside the Firm.

In the shadows of our spotlight investigators, our core team of strategists, builders, and experts are quietly building and refining the tools, processes, and support for a smarter, more human approach to workplace investigations.

The Goodwin Mystery.

Every name carries a story. Ours began with a search for something that felt true to who we are — approachable, dependable, and always on the truth’s side. That search led us to Goodwin.

The name nods to Archie Goodwin, the loyal and quick-witted assistant in the 1930s detective novels featuring Nero Wolfe. Wolfe was a brilliant investigator who solved cases entirely from his home office — long before remote work was even a thing. Goodwin was his sharp, stylish partner who handled all the legwork in the field.

We loved that dynamic. Just as Archie Goodwin enabled Wolfe’s success, Goodwin is here to be your trusted partner — ensuring investigations are seamless, effective, and defensible, no matter where you are.
